From San José
~3.5 hours
Take Route 1 (Panamerican Highway) north toward Puntarenas. Exit at Las Juntas / Cañas, then follow signs to Monteverde via Route 606. The last 30km is an unpaved mountain road — 4WD recommended in wet season.
By Shuttle
From San José or Liberia
Daily departures
Several shared shuttle companies run daily services from San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIR). We recommend Interbus or Desafío. Book in advance during high season. We can arrange pick-up from the shuttle stop.
